This page explains which cookies and similar storage Powertools4u.com uses, and what each one is for. A cookie is a small text file a site asks your browser to keep, usually so that something can be remembered between page loads.

Strictly necessary
These keep the site working. The software behind Powertools4u.com is WordPress with WooCommerce, and it may set short lived session cookies to hold a page state or to protect a form against abuse. Cookies in this group also come from Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site and uses them to tell genuine visitors apart from automated traffic.
WordPress also sets login cookies for site administrators. That does not apply to ordinary readers, because there is no reader account system here and public registration is closed.
Affiliate click attribution
This is the one cookie worth understanding properly, because it is tied to how the site earns.
When you click a product link, you pass through a redirect on this site before you reach Amazon. At that point a first party cookie is set containing a randomly generated visitor identifier. Its only job is to let us count outbound clicks and match a referral back to a link here. It holds no name, no email address and no purchase details, and it expires by itself after roughly two years.
Blocking this cookie does not stop you using the site or reaching the retailer. It only means we lose the ability to count that click.
Analytics
We measure traffic with a first party script served from analytics.devdome.com. Our own measurement script records page views, referrers and outbound clicks so we can see which reviews people find useful, and it is set to respect a Do Not Track signal from your browser.
We do not use Google Analytics on this site.
Cookies set by Amazon
Once a link hands you over to Amazon, you are on Amazon’s site and Amazon sets its own cookies, including the ones that record which affiliate referred you. Those cookies are outside our control and are governed by Amazon’s own policies rather than this one. We cannot see them and we cannot clear them for you.
Embedded content
Some pages include product images or share buttons that load from other services. Where that happens, the other service can see the request and may set storage of its own, in the same way as if you had visited that service directly.
Controlling cookies
Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete the ones already stored, or refuse third party cookies while keeping first party ones. The controls sit in your browser’s privacy or site settings, and browsers also offer a private browsing mode that discards storage when you close the window.
You can block everything this site sets and still read every review. The only thing you break is our click counting.
